Se-Quo-Yah

Chief Se-Quo-Yah, son of a Cherokee woman and a white man, was a silversmith by trade.  He is best known for giving the Cherokee their greatest gift – communication.  He invented the Cherokee alphabet, and with his daughter, taught it to his people.  In recognition of his contributions, the Cherokee Nation awarded him a silver medal.  Se-Quo-Yah served the Cherokee as a statesman and diplomat until his death.

Portrait is a 12" x 18" unframed archival print.
